membership
Membership of the National RA
Because the Reading RA is affiliated to the National RA, members enjoy the benefits of both.
support
Further training and support
All newly qualified members are associated with a personal coach or mentor - a more experienced referee who acts as guide and friend through
the early days
Training seminars are arranged for members seeking promotion and advice is given on
progressing up through the leagues; help is always available
for dealing with any problem - from a point of Law to
report-writing.
You get support from your own RA and/or County RA if you have to attend a disciplinary hearing

kit
Refereeing Kit
Through the National RA, the Reading RA is able to supply new kit and equipment at competitive prices. We also have a ‘kit wardrobe’ of
discarded but usable kit which new referees can borrow before they decide to invest.
magazines
Magazine
All members receive a
copy of our in-house magazine, the Reading Referee, which
is published quarterly. The magazine is sent to any
member who is unable to attend the monthly meetings.

website
Website
As you know - because
you are here - one of the benefits of the Reading RA
is its extensive website. We ask members with access to the
Net not only to visit frequently but also to give the site
publicity, especially to non-members and non-referees. We
also welcome information and suggestions.
books
Books and booklets
At the beginning of each season members also receive a copy of the Reading RA Handbook, a mine of information about the society,
refereeing and local football, and including key addresses and phone numbers.
The National RA also stocks a selection of books and booklets about aspects of refereeing, and the annual publication of the Laws of the Game
is available at half the normal published price.
tickets
FA Cup Final tickets
We have an annual draw of
tickets for the FA Cup Final.
social
Social events
From time to time social events are arranged by the Committee. In the past these have included discos, skittles evenings, a race night, trips
to Wembley, but the choice always depends on members’ requests and wishes.
