March 2002 - You are the ref

  1. The player takes a throw-in some 10 metres nearer to his own goal line than the point where the ball went off. Has an offence been committed?

  2. You hear a player calling for the ball and not using a name. Do you penalise him?

  3. The player taking a penalty kick back-heels the ball to a colleague who runs from outside the arc to kick the ball into the net. What is your reaction?

  4. You have shown the red card and sent off a player for using insulting language. The free kick is taken and the ball goes straight into the opponents’ net. What do you award?

  5. A defender runs in between his goalkeeper who is holding the ball and an attacker who is attempting to charge the keeper. What is your decision?
