Open meeting – September 2012

It’s that time again – our monthly meeting at our new venue – Earley Home Guard Social Club, Pitts Lane, Earley, Reading RG6 1BT – 7.45pm start, Thursday 20 September.

Those of you who made it along to our first meeting will know how nice a venue it is – much cheaper bar prices and a large comfortable room. Unfortunately we won’t be providing food every month but there will be other occasions when we’ll try to make it a bit different and more sociable!

For this month’s meeting we are very pleased to welcome back Lorraine Deschamps MBE
Lorraine is a fantastic person with a real love of life and football. She’s very deep thinking and always delivers really thought-provoking sessions. This one is entitled ‘Teamwork and Self Management’.
Having been brought up in Brazil, Lorraine developed a love for football that has seen her take on a number of roles in the sport – Club Secretary for a grass-roots football club with age groups spanning Under 8’s through to Under 18’s and Adults, Level 5 referee (Senior County Level), and FA Tutor (Level 4). She is active in her refereeing and referee tutor roles, officiating regularly in Men’s semi-professional football and on the Women’s Premier League. She is also Chair of The FA’s Diversity Action Group and was recently awarded an MBE for her services to sport and diversity.

Have you renewed your membership yet?
If you haven’t yet renewed your membership (and there are quite a few of you), please do so as without it you are not covered by The RA insurance – and you certainly didn’t contribute to all the sausage rolls you ate last month! 😉  Jamie Barnett is the point of contact for all membership matters. If you’ve lost your form we’ve put a downloadable one on the website (halfway down the contacts page) click here

See you Thursday for what promises to be another great night.
Stephen
