2014 Christmas Social

Kicking off at 7.45pm, we hope to see you all at the Reading RA’s final open meeting of the year on Thursday 18 December for an entertaining Christmas themed spectacular. A sumptuous spread is being laid on with help of our friends at the Earley Home Guard Club and we have a range of activities for your enjoyment.

Malcolm Hillen will host another one of his excellent football-related quizzes, for which we will break off into small teams. It has been made known the quiz will be largely picture based, so bring your best eyes. There may or may not be a prize for the winning team, but remember it’s the taking part that counts.

To celebrate this time of festivities and the close of another year, we are running a bumper prize draw with a whole host of festive prizes and goodies to be won; including spirits (over-18 only), choccies and a Christmas pud amongst many other prizes. Tickets will be £1 each, or £5 for the strip; it will be worth it.

Brian will be providing additional entertainment, which will run throughout the course of the evening and is sure to get people talking, cheering, and reminiscing for some beyond the years of our younger members.

We have had a very memorable, if slightly chaotic 2014. Following the transformation in the Committee there was naturally going to be teething problems, but all involved, past and present, can look back over the year and be rightly very proud of their efforts.

Reading has been fortunate to welcome such esteemed special guests as Ian Blanchard, Senior National Game Referees Manager; Nigel Adkins, Manager of Reading FC; Roger Vaughan, National referees Manager for Referee Development; Graham Scott, Football League Referee. And of course our very own Brian Wratten, RRA President.

We hope you can join us for the final meeting of 2014 and look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.
